What kind of compass system does the Nova Ray® use?
Nova Ray® uses a solid state navigation
compass with pitch and roll. Additionally, our proprietary
Command and Control system provides both heading and ROV
attitude information. The attitude system relays pitch and
roll information to the controlling software, as well as
to the pilot.

Is the Nova Ray® Digital?
Yes, the Nova Ray® has fully digital
on-board electronics. The on-board processor provides precise
control and easy integration of digital peripheral add-ons.
How long does it take to Assemble and Disassemble the Nova
Ray® ROV?
With proficiency, the time can average
about 30 to 60 minutes.
What kind of Sonar can be
added to the Nova Ray® ROV?
The Nova Ray® ROV is
a multi-function platform designed to integrate customer
specified data management and imaging add-ons. The Nova
Ray® is sonar ready to include:
- Forward Scan Sonar-Nose mounted, with
flexible capabilities to meet specific project needs:
set to 360 degree continuous rotation, or set to sector
which is 180 degrees, or set the sector size in 3 degree
increments.
- Side Scan Sonar - Mounted on runners
at the proper angle for full coverage. Optional mounts
available for added cost.
Does the Nova Ray® have a Tracking System?
Our Command and Control system accurately
communicates what the Nova Ray® is doing. The company
is in discussions with manufacturers to develop a compatible
transponder that integrates a tracking and guidance system.
Short Baseline (SBL) and ultra short baseline systems currently
available on the market can be integrated into the system.
What is the maximum Depth?
The Nova Ray® rating
is 300 meters or 1,000 feet. Additional depth can be accommodated
with some modification of the ROV.
What are the Dimensions of the Transit
Cases for air travel?
- ROV: The Nova Ray® packs compactly
and easily into two cases with telescoping handles and
wheels (the umbilical is in a third case). The cases meet
current commercial airline luggage size requirements (inside
dimensions: 27" L x 19" W x 12" H).
Control Console: The watertight
Control Console has a telescoping handle and wheels, and
conforms to airline carry-on luggage limits (inside dimensions:
19" L x 14.50" W x 7.62" H).
